BREEZE TV AFRICA ON OKON
One of Akwa Ibom’s fastest growing Nollywood actor and comedian, Ime ‘Bishop’ Umoh has come under severe criticisms from his fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry over what they termed his pompous and snubbing lifestyle.
We gathered that the star actor who is called ‘ Cafenol ‘ has been acting in a way quite unbecoming of a role model who is supposed to have a friendly disposition.
We gathered that the University of Uyo graduate crept into the consciousness of Nollywood aficionados has allowed his fame to get into his head and hardly responds to greeting from his fans while picking up fights with his senior colleagues like Moses Armstrong, Ekere Nkanga, Moses Effret and Moses Eskor.
One aggrieved fan told us that she ran into Bishop at a club in Uyo and her attempts to relate with him and snap some pictures with him were met with a snobbish attitude as he reportedly told her off.
Her words: “I was so surprised that Bishop could be so rude to a fan of his. I met him at a club in Uyo and being his fan, I went to greet him and requested to take pictures with him on my BB phone but he told me off, saying that he does not take pictures with every Tom and Harry. I was so ashamed and wished the ground could open and swallow me. Such attitude is not good for a star like “.
Another entertainment buff in the state also had this to say.
“Bishop is a young man whom a lot of people appreciate so much. With the Nollywood movies he has starred in, he has succeeded in a carving a nitche for himself. But that notwithstanding, it is regrettable and very appalling that he is a snub.
I don’t know whether the attitude is in-born or he developed it when he started getting some sort of fame. Bishop can see you here now and pretends not seeing you, expecting the person who may be his senior colleague to acknowledge him first.
I can remember when Michael Bush did his thanksgiving at EMJMM Hotel. Bishop was sitting at the front row. Bush came down and gave him the program of event to share to people, when Bishop collected the program he took it to some people sitting at the back to share, saying he can’t do such an errand because it is demeaning.
I felt so bad because Bush is his former boss. Bush employed him and made him the General Manager of World Win Media, owners of Bush House Nigeria and publishers of News d’ Or Magazine. At least he should have shown some loyalty to his erstwhile boss”
